Template Sample to Give Clients About the Coronavirus Pandemic
If you work with clients, I wanted to share a letter I am giving to my clients that you may use all of or parts of to share with your clients if you find it supportive. Please feel free to share what you are sending to your clients in the comments below. I'm a believer in shared resources as a support to us all. I hope you find this helpful.
Dear Clients,
I am sending this information out to all of my clients. Your physical and emotional health is my greatest focus. Based on public health recommendations of social distancing, my practice will be moving to phone sessions or video sessions immediately to ensure you continue to have access to care, and that you don’t have to be concerned about possible exposure in waiting areas, offices, etc. We are taking the utmost care and precautions.
I know this might be a time of increased anxiety or stress for you, so I recommend keeping your appointments, and if needed, please reach out for additional sessions if you are having a hard time managing it on your own.
Here are some additional support resources for you:
Meditations for HSPs I have created several podcast meditations that can help reduce stress and anxiety. Now, even more than ever, we need to do daily relaxation techniques to try to be healthy and strong. The podcasts can be found here on my website: https://www.juliebjelland.com/podcasts Or you can also go directly to my podcast page here if you prefer to listen to it through a podcast platform: https://anchor.fm/julie-bjelland

Connect online with other HSPs and me. I’m interacting every day in my Sensitive Empowerment community that is a beautiful space for HSPs to be together during this time of social isolation. I recommend trying to stay connected during this time. We are live together every week here too with events, trainings and lots of resources to support you. We celebrate self-care for our wellness. https://www.sensitive-empowerment.com/
COVID 19 is a type of virus that spreads quickly and puts certain populations such as the elderly or those with breathing or immune issues at heightened risk. Currently, the World Health Organization has declared this a pandemic, and you can find more information here
A Pandemic is an outbreak of a disease that occurs over a wide geographic area and affects an exceptionally high proportion of the population.
Overall guidance from the CDC is focused on limiting the spread of the virus. The CDC provided guidelines for homes, schools, and businesses here. The focus is on limiting in-person contact, physical contact when possible, and limiting large gatherings.
Social distancing is now being practiced as a way for communities as a protective mechanism to slow the spread of the virus and not overwhelm our hospitals.
I hope this has been helpful to you. Please reach out if you need an extra session and let me know if you prefer a phone or video at your next session. If you prefer the phone, please give me the phone number you want me to call you at the time of our session. I use Zoom for video, and it’s free and easy to use, and if needed, my wonderful assistant, Kia, can walk you through how to use it.
Please reply and let me know if our next session together will be by phone or video and take extra good care of yourself through this, and we will talk soon!
All my best,
Julie Bjelland, LMFT
